Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus: qualitative references
The Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus represent the top of the Korean manufacturer’s basket for this year. The Galaxy S10 appeals at a glance thanks to its nice design with good finishes, but especially with its excellent 6.1-inch Super AMOLED display.
It also offers very good performance with its SoC Exynos 9820 associated with 8 GB of RAM and very beautiful photos thanks to its triple sensor that allows it to take pictures in ultra-wide angle or with optical zoom. We will only regret that his autonomy struggles to hold a full day.
The Galaxy S10 Plus generally has the same features with some small improvements. Its screen measures 6.2 inches, and the capacity of its battery rises to 4100 mAh which allows him to correct the main defect of his little brother.
Why we recommend the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus?
- Excellent photos and versatility of the triple-sensor
- The quality of their Super AMOLED screens
- Very good performance
- The new Samsung interface: One UI
Huawei P30 and P30 Pro: the focus on the photo
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are the most known and reliable alternatives to the Samsung Galaxy S10. Both offer a very complete solution that will undoubtedly meet the majority of uses.
The Huawei P30 is equipped with an excellent 6.1-inch AMOLED screen that enjoys excellent contrast, a very good brightness and allows the smartphone to have a relatively compact format. It also performs very well thanks to its SoC Kirin 980 supported by 6 GB of RAM. His photos are also excellent and his triple-sensor allows him to perform optical zooms x3 and hybrid x5, and to take pictures in ultra-wide angles with the third lens equivalent 16 mm. Finally, its autonomy is also comfortable and can hold 2 days without forcing while enjoying a very fast charge. In short, a very good choice in 2019!
Why choose the Huawei P30?
- A rather compact design
- A screen of excellent quality
- Very good performances in photo
- Autonomy of two days
If you want to go further, the Huawei P30 Pro has some improvements, especially in the photo. His strong point is undoubtedly the presence of a fourth ToF photo sensor that allows him to achieve excellent portraits. Its telephoto sensor switches to an 8 megapixel telephoto rectangular format with a lens opening in f / 3.4 allowing an x10 zoom without loss of quality, a very interesting feature (but not necessarily the most useful). Its screen also passes 6.47 inches and introduces curved edges.
Why choose the Huawei P30 Pro?
- Sublime AMOLED display
- Versatile and efficient photo sensor
- Fashionable portrait bluffing
- Superior autonomy
OnePlus 7 Pro: the 90 Hz screen with a Snapdragon 855
This year, OnePlus adds a “Pro” version to its catalog. This new version of the flagship – decidedly more premium than before – incorporates a completely borderless and curved screen, without notch or bubble. Its diagonal lengthens on 6.67 inches and displays a Quad HD + definition. In short, the screen is excellent, but the latter has the distinction of offering a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The result is simply stunning and therefore appears to be ideal for consuming content without moderation.
As usual, OnePlus incorporates the latest chip from the manufacturer Qualcomm to its new flagship. It is therefore quite logical that we find a Snapdragon 855 supported by 6, 8, or 12 GB of RAM, depending on the model. You will understand, this smartphone is obviously a beast of power and will run without problems the greediest games from the Play Store, while enjoying a smooth user experience in Android 9.0 Pie with Oxygen OS interface.
However, this OnePlus 7 Pro has some shortcomings. On the one hand, the triple sensor module of 48 + 8 + 16 megapixels is not at the level of competition (we are waiting for the update!). And on the other hand, its autonomy is not as legendary as before, despite a big battery of 4,000 mAh. Fortunately, the fast charging system is still efficient.
Why do we recommend the OnePlus 7 Pro?
- Its huge screen of 90 Hz
- The power of Snapdragon 855
- A fast charging system always efficient
Huawei Mate 20 Pro: it does everything (and well)
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a premium design with rounded shapes that make it super pleasant in hand. The OLED tile is vibrant, highly contrasted and perfectly legible in bright sunlight. You will also have the privilege of being able to adjust it if the color tone disturbs you.
Initiated by the Huawei P20 Pro, the triple photo sensor is back in the game. It includes a 40 megapixel (f / 1.8) main sensor, a second ultra-wide 20 megapixel (f / 2.2) camera, and finally a last 8 megapixel f / 2.4 telephoto device that offers excellent quality while by bringing a versatility very appreciated on this tariff segment (from now on much cheaper than at its exit). In addition, its 24-megapixel front camera even manages to capture detailed selfies in the dark.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro also has a large 4200 mAh battery that can handle more than one day of intense use, plus fast charging and wireless charging. Under the hood hides the powerful Kirin 980 SoC that can run the heavier applications without problems. A machine ready for any eventuality, that goes without saying.
Why we recommend the Huawei Mate 20 Pro?
- Its premium design
- Its triple versatile and very qualitative photo sensor
- Autonomy able to satisfy the most greedy
Google Pixel 3: the best compact
Do you swear by Android Pure? Look no further, it’s the Google Pixel 3 you need. This smartphone perfectly combines the hardware part with the software part. First, it has a rather unique design with a frosted glass back guaranteeing a better holding of the smartphone. It’s sober and it works very well. It is not very big with its 5.5-inch OLED screen and will delight people looking for a device a little mat.
No risk of feeling a lack of fluidity with its Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked at 2.5 GHz. We like the interface of pixels, even if the navigation by gestures leaves us on our hunger. In addition, it has 3 years of guaranteed updates, which remains an excellent point for an Android smartphone.
Let’s keep the best for last: Google has proven that we can improve photos through software processing. With a simple 12 megapixel photo sensor, he stands among the best photophones. Perfect for all your outings!
Why choose the Google Pixel 3?
- A clean Android Stock interface
- Little but strong
- An exceptional and infallible camera
