Honor has quickly become a popular brand in the world market thanks to smartphones with a very good price/quality ratio. Before discussing the Honor brand catalog, it is important to explain where this manufacturer comes from. Honor is actually a brand owned by Chinese manufacturer Huawei. It was created to occupy the entry-level market without harming the image of the Huawei brand, but with products less prestigious than the P or Mate series.
As you can see, Honor’s products are best known for having an excellent quality/price ratio. However, this does not prevent the Chinese manufacturer to offer both low-priced smartphones and smartphones that are close to high-end models of some competitors.
Using our detailed guide, find the best references of the manufacturer according to your budget.
The high end
Honor 20
The Honor 20 looks a lot like its predecessor. However, it is slightly more compact thanks to its IPS LCD panel of 6.24 inches against 6.4 for the View 20. As usual, the manufacturer adds stylized effects to the back to attract the eye. We do not like or dislike, but the design of the Honor 20 does not leave indifferent.
The new Chinese flagship especially has the distinction of integrating 4 photo sensors on the back. Its 48 + 16 + 2 + 2 megapixel module therefore brings a versatility that was cruelly lacking to its predecessor, and even more so in comparison with the competition. Ultra-wide-angle, macro, portrait mode, everything is there to satisfy the majority of needs, and even an effective night mode for situations in low light.
It is finally powered a Kirin 980 accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM depending on the model. This combo is always as effective to enjoy a perfectly fluid user experience in everyday life, as well as to play the greediest games in the best conditions. In addition, it will accompany you for many hours (about 2 days according to our test) with its battery of 3750 mAh and recharges very quickly thanks to the protocol SuperCharge 22.5 W. However, the wireless charge is absent.
To reassure everyone, note also that the Honor 20 will be straight to Android 10 Q.
Why choose Honor 20?
- A design that does not leave you indifferent
- The versatility of its quadruple sensor
- Its high-end performance
Honor View 20
The new smartphone of the manufacturer Honor is the first to propose a screen pierced in the hexagon, a rather discreet way to circumvent the notch. It incorporates a 6.4 inch IPS LCD screen that takes almost the entire front, where there is then a small hole in the top left to hide the 24-megapixel front camera. The design is overall very successful, especially on the back with its most original effect.
The Honor View 20 ships the most powerful Android SoC on the market today: the Kirin 980 clocked at 2.6 GHz, supported by 6 or 8 GB of RAM depending on the model. A configuration found on the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the latter has already demonstrated its power and there is no doubt that it is the same on this new flagship. This is the assurance of running the most greedy games from the Play Store while enjoying a seamless user experience in Android 9.0 Pie with the manufacturer’s EMUI 9 interface. Its photo part is also very interesting with the new 48 megapixel sensor in 1/2 inch format (manufactured by Sony): the shots are close to reality, whatever the context.
With its 4000 mAh battery, the View 20 is simply a monster of autonomy. It can easily hold two days, even with intensive use of the smartphone. Note also that its fast charge is very efficient and is also compatible with the wireless charge Qi.

The mid-range
Honor 10
The Honor 10 is the former flagship of the manufacturer. It stands out for its good performance at an affordable price, almost equivalent to the Huawei P20. So there is a SoC Kirin 970 supported by 4 or 6 GB of RAM for a perfectly smooth user experience. Its autonomy is very respectable thanks to its battery of 3400 mAh and the recharging is done via a USB connection Type-C.
The Honor 10 features a 5.84-inch border-less screen with a full HD + definition of 2280 x 1080p and its design on the back and simply hypnotizing. It runs natively on Android 8.1 Oreo, but note that the deployment of Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9 has already begun. On the side of the photo, it is based on a double 16 + 24 megapixel photo sensor which is doing very well for this price range.

Although it is physically closer to the Honor 10 (without the hypnotizing side), the 8X is more generous in its dimensions with its large slab of 6.5 inches in Full HD + definition of 2340 x 1080 pixels, where the latter is rather balanced otherwise. For the photo part, its double 20 + 16 megapixel sensor takes very satisfactory shots for this price range, although it has some difficulties in low light situations.
On the performance side, it ships the SoC Kirin 710 clocked at 2.2 GHz supported by 4 GB of RAM. A configuration that has already proven itself (on the Mate 20 Lite, for example) and promises a user experience that is totally fluid on a daily basis. For players, note that he is perfectly capable of running a few 3D games from the Play Store. Regarding the autonomy, he does not have to blush in front of the competition with his battery of 3750 mAh which allows him easily to hold a whole day, even more depending on the use of the phone.

Entry level
Honor 10 Lite
The Honor 10 Lite is the new mid-range smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer, announced early this year 2019. As the name suggests, this is a lighter version of the former flagship manufacturer. Although the design is almost identical to the Honor 10, it is still wider with a screen of 6.21 inches (against 5.84 for his big brother), but it also offers a more discreet notch that takes here the shape of a drop of water.
Overall, it offers a similar solution, but slightly more accessible than the Honor 8X. Not surprisingly, we find the configuration that equips most of the new smartphones mid-range home Huawei: a SoC Kirin 710 clocked at 2.2 GHz. Fluid and fast, it runs natively on Android 9.0 Pie with the manufacturer’s EMUI 9 interface . For the rest of its features, it has a battery of 3400 mAh which gives it an autonomy above the average, a dual photo sensor of 13 + 2 megapixels and a front camera of 24 megapixels for a satisfactory photo part on this price range.
